You can higher IELTS grades in Speaking and Writing if you show your individual thought. In that sense, the Writing 2 task, despite being longer and requires wider though, could may be seen as being easier.
In Writing 1, you have to be observant, but not especially creative. In Writing 2, you have the freedom to write what you like. In fact, that is what you need to do for higher grades.
Be controlled and careful when you do Writing 2, but remember that making stuff up and saying whatever you want to say, and not what other people say, is point of the exercise.
